Ballast bulb designed and manufactured to fit the Alioth fin.
The ballast is cast from an alloy of lead and antimony to increase stiffness.
It can be supplied in the cast state or painted.
Cast state:
The bulb in the cast state includes a plastic shoe to fit the bulb slot and the Alioth fin.
It only requires finishing the surface. The casting process can result in cavities on the surface. Expect to fill these cavities with epoxy or polyester filler to create a fair surface before preparing to spray the ballast.
